Description
All my pottery is handmade on the potters wheel or using slabs or coils. The clay is a durable stoneware and so is suitable for table ware, food service and gifting!
I use a process of sprig molds on these mugs which is a process of pressing clay into the mold and revealing the shape. Then I scratch the back of the sprig mold and attach it to the mug surface. Then, once fired I hand paint the sea shells/creataures with an underglaze, wax them and dip the mug in a combination of white and green glaze and fire again.
My work is inspired by the local flora and fauna of this area and of course the ocean and all its creatures.
